You can donate directly to the skatepark fund that is monitored by our treasurer at PayPal or through the Anacortes Parks Foundation. If donating through the Anacortes Parks Foundation, 10% of the funds will be kept by the Foundation, and be sure to put "Skate park" in the memo or the funds will not go towards the skate park.
Now that we have rebuilt the Anacortes Skate Park to with Grindline, we are supporting continued maintenance and events at the Park in close cooperation with the City of Anacortes and in collaboration with the Parks and Recreation Department.
The Anacortes Skate Park Improvement Project is a 501(c)(3) organized for the purpose of lessening the burden on the Anacortes City government through the support of the Parks and Recreation Department, reducing delinquency and building community through building, maintaining, and improving Anacortes Skate Park(s) and supporting events, workshops, and classes at the Park(s).

Gift Acceptance Policy
Acceptance of any contribution, gift or grant is at the discretion of Anacortes Skate Park Improvement Project. Anacortes Skate Park Improvement Project will not accept any gift unless it can be used or expended consistently with the purpose and mission of Anacortes Skate Park Improvement Project.
No irrevocable gift, whether outright or life-income in character, will be accepted if under any reasonable set of circumstances the gift would jeopardize the donor’s financial security.
Anacortes Skate Park Improvement Project will refrain from providing advice about the tax or other treatment of gifts and will encourage donors to seek guidance from their own professional advisors to assist them in the process of making their gift.
Anacortes Skate Park Improvement Project will accept transparent and unrestricted donations of cash or publicly traded securities. Gifts of in-kind services will be accepted at the discretion of the Anacortes Skate Park Improvement Project.
Certain other gifts, real property, personal property, in-kind gifts, non-liquid securities, and contributions whose sources are not transparent or whose use is restricted in some manner, must be reviewed prior to acceptance due to the special obligations raised or liabilities they may pose for Anacortes Skate Park Improvement Project.
Anacortes Skate Park Improvement Project will provide acknowledgments to donors meeting IRS substantiation requirements for property received by the charity as a gift. However, except for gifts of cash and publicly traded securities, no value shall be ascribed to any receipt or other form of substantiation of a gift received by Anacortes Skate Park Improvement Project.
Anacortes Skate Park Improvement Project will respect the intent of the donor relating to gifts for restricted purposes and those relating to the desire to remain anonymous. With respect to anonymous gifts, Anacortes Skate Park Improvement Project will restrict information about the donor to only those staff members and government agencies with a need to know (e.g. Schedule B of form 990).
Anacortes Skate Park Improvement Project will not compensate, whether through commissions, finders’ fees, or other means, any third party for directing a gift or a donor to Anacortes Skate Park Improvement Project.
In accepting gifts of all kinds, the Anacortes Skate Park Improvement Project shall:
1) Advise donors that any restrictive terms and conditions the donor attaches to gifts for the City are subject to the Anacortes Skate Park Improvement Project Board of Directors approval.
2) Consult with the Anacortes City Parks and Recreation Director in advance to ensure that gifts designated for specific City purposes are in compliance with the City's policies and master plans, vision, mission and philosophy before accepting the gift.
3) Receive prior written approval from the City for any gift, grant, or contract that includes a financial or contractual obligation binding upon the City.
4) Be responsible for reporting the use of donor funds to the donor.
5) Gifts that, in the Board’s sole discretion, are of de minimis value are exempt from the above requirements.
The Anacortes Skate Park Improvement Project shall communicate the following information to prospective donors:
1) The Anacortes Skate Park Improvement Project is a separate, legal entity organized for the purpose of lessening the burden on the Anacortes City government through the support of the Parks and Recreation Department, reducing delinquency and building community through building, maintaining, and improving Anacortes Skate Park(s) and supporting events, workshops, and classes at the Park(s).
2) Responsibility for governance of the Anacortes Skate Park Improvement Project, including investment of gifts and endowments, resides with the Anacortes Skate Park Improvement Project Board of Directors.
3) Any gift made for a designated City purpose will be dedicated in its entirety to that purpose unless (i) it is specifically understood by the donor when the gift was made, or subsequently agreed to by the donor in writing, that the gift can be used for another purpose; or (ii) the City objects to the designated purpose of the gift.
